Who is From Why to Walking program creator Frank S. Ring?
My first book, Walking for Health and Fitness: The Easiest Way to Get in Shape and Stay in Shape, is an Amazon Best-Seller and is being used as a course-book for a movement course at the University of Indiana.
My second book, Fitness Walking and Bodyweight Exercises: Supercharge Your Fitness, Build Body Strength, and Live Longer, explains the benefits of performing bodyweight exercises while you walk.
My third book Walking Inspiration: A 12-Month Plan to Inspire Your Health and Fitness has twelve-monthly topics to inspire your mindset as you walk. The January chapter is titled, "What's Your Why?". This question got me started on my quest to teach others about walking.

My Biggest Mistake
In 2016, I made a mistake that cost me dearly—in time, money, and my overall quality of life. It led to a medical leave of absence from work and left me struggling with constant pain and frustration.
At the time, I was an avid runner, using weightlifting to boost my performance. However, the long miles I spent running on uneven, rocky trails took a severe toll on my back and knees. On top of that, I was lifting weights improperly, which often left me writhing in pain on the ground.
Despite months of physical therapy, the back pain persisted. The lack of quality sleep made me irritable and less patient with my loved ones. I began to miss social gatherings because I couldn’t sit comfortably for long periods of time.
Looking back, I now realize not knowing my why at that time cost me more than just physical pain—it cost me time, money, my health, and my peace of mind.
