Plant-based nutrition has gained immense popularity in recent years, and for good reason. 10 Life Lessons (Mom's life well lived)
On August 26, 2016, my mom, Anne Ring, lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. Mom had a series of “life lessons” that I put together for her eulogy. While she never wrote these down formally, these are what stuck with me as I reflected on how she lived her life and what she left behind for my dad, sisters, brother, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and me.
As I move forward with my teaching career, online business, and life in general, I keep her lessons at the forefront of my thoughts each day.

A great indicator of your state of health is how long you can walk. I define a long walk as being over one hour in duration. Getting out on the road and taking a long walk is the high point of my walking experience!

As I prepared for my walking adventures this spring, I spend a good deal of time searching for a walking route with smooth, even footing, gradual inclines and declines, and a shaded trail that goes on for miles and miles. I know, I thought it would be easier to find a unicorn in a haystack, but to my great surprise and good fortune, such a trail does exist.
On the hottest day of late spring, I found the most walkable trail in North Jersey called the Paulinskill Valley Rail Trail.
